Agropoli, couple found dead at home: new hypotheses beyond murder-suicide

Performed yesterday morning at the laboratories of policemen of the Risin Rome, new non-repeatable technical checks on the material found inside the apartment in via Donizetti, in Agropoli, where on the morning of last January 22nd they were found lifeless the spouses Annalisa Rizzo And Vincenzo Carnicelli, aged 43 and 63 respectively. These are new checks ordered by the investigating prosecutor Antonio Pizzi of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Vallo della Lucaniaaimed at reconstructing the exact dynamics of the tragedy that occurred within the home, where the couple lived with their minor daughter.

The main investigative hypothesis remains that of the murder-suicide of the man with a cutlass, but it cannot be ruled out that Carnicelli was fatally wounded by his wife, in an attempt to defend herself, with a box cutter. The soldiers of the RIS of Rome had already carried out the first checks on the material found last March 15, following the inspection which took place in the home of the Cilento couple last February 22nd. On that date, in fact, the Carabinieri of the RIS of Rome and the colleagues of the SIS of Salerno carried out new surveys and found further elements useful for the reconstruction of the tragedy, including the presence of blood traces in the kitchenin the living room and in the bedroom where the two bodies were found one on top of the other, on the floor.

The Ris specialists, on that occasion, also found fingerprints and insoles thanks to the use of a reagent, amido black, usually used for this type of investigation. After the investigations carried out in the capital in March, investigators deemed it necessary to carry out new checks. The investigation file, against unknown persons, concerns the crime of murder and identifies, as offended persons, the couple’s minor daughter and all the family members, who had the right to appoint its own technical consultants to participate in the investigations. The two were found devoid of life in his daughter’s bedroom, who however slept in the master bedroom and would not have noticed anything.

There quarrel, which later resulted in tragedy, would have exploded in the kitchen when the woman, who had spent Sunday evening out, returned home. The two bodies lay on the floorone on top of the other, with the two edged weapons next to them, later seized by the carabinieri of the Agropoli Company, directed by the captain Giuseppe Colellawho follow the investigations on behalf of the Valais Public Prosecutor’s Office.
