This Thursday 13 June begins in the worst possible way for motorists who are moving through the streets of the capital early in the morning and in particular for those who have been stuck on the road for hours. Grande Raccordo Anulare, due to a serious accident involving a tanker and a car, with the death of the driver of the tanker.
Serious accident blocks the ring road due to a collision between a tanker and a car, with the heavy vehicle overturning, sending traffic into chaos
In particular, it seems for the overturning of a heavy vehicle, it would appear to be a tanker, which collided with a car for reasons yet to be clarified and the driver of the tanker lost his life.
The impact is sending traffic on the internal roadway into a tailspin, with copious spillage of petrol on the road.
This all happened at 2.50 this night, June 13th, for an accident with dynamics still to be clarified, which is causing long queues, with the road section closed in the direction of Aurelia and mandatory exit on Via del Mare.
Just before 3 am, the operations room of the firefighters, present in support at the site of the accident, sent three vehicles (team 11A, 4A and the protective tank) for the accident that occurred at kilometer 57/58 of the Grande Raccordo Anulare.
The stretch of the Grande Raccordo Anulare was closed to traffic to allow the traffic police to carry out investigations.
The petrol tank, according to the very first reconstructions, would have overturned and the road system, around 7.46 in the morning it is severely congested, despite the fact that the police forces responsible for bringing traffic back to normal acted promptly.
The ramp towards the ring road is completely blocked due to the accident which occurred at the junction for Fiumicino, due to what at the moment appears to be an independent accident, with the tanker which would have overturned without the involvement of other vehicles.
The repercussions, although more than 4 hours have passed at the time of publication of this article, are also felt along Via Pontina and Via Ostiense and the affected road section remains closed, awaiting completion of the investigations by the traffic police.
