A van overturned, two cars involved in the crash and one victim, MS, a 46-year-old Senegalese who lived in the province of Milan. This is the outcome of the accident that occurred today (12 June 2024) in Zanica, along the Southern Ring Road, at 2.45 pm, on the stretch towards Stezzano. According to the first reconstruction by the Treviglio road agents, the old Renault Clio driven by the North African, who was traveling from Stezzano towards Zanica, crossed into the opposite lane and crashed into the van that was crossing it at that moment. A very violent impact, which left the 46-year-old no escape.
Only the driver of the van, a 50-year-old man, was injured taken to Pope John XIII hospital with a chest trauma and a probably fractured leg and arm, and a 43-year-old, at the wheel of a Mercedes Class A which was narrowly involved in the crash. The woman was taken to the Zingonia emergency room without obvious trauma. The police will now try to clarify the causes of the tragedy. The firefighters made the roadways safe and the Stezzano carabinieri provided support in traffic management. The stretch of State Road 42 where the accident occurred, between Zanica and Stezzano, it was temporarily closed to traffic for about three hours.
