A block of stone breaks away from a building and falls onto the pavement, splitting in two. Luckily no one was passing by at that moment, because if a pedestrian had been hit there was a risk of tragedy. It happened late yesterday afternoon, Monday 10 June, in Gattinara, along Corso Garibaldi, one of the busiest sections of the city.
In practice, a bracket supporting a balcony gave way and fell onto the pavement below.

The intervention of the firefighters
Once the alarm was raised, a team of the Varallo firefighters arrived on site, ensuring the safety of the affected area and the provisional delimitation of the areas under the balcony.
The staff of the technical office of the Municipality of Gattinara were also present at the site of the collapse to assess the situation and decide what measures to take to protect public safety. In the meantime, obviously the area is cordoned off and passage on that stretch of pavement is prohibited.
