First a strong hailstorm, then a downpour that lasted several tens of minutes and the West of Brescia ended up under water. Disturbances occurred in the evening in Chiari, Erbusco, Passirano and throughout the surrounding area.
TO Clear at least two cars were stuck in the underpass near the Gnutti company in via San Bernardino, while the fire brigade teams remained busy for a long time trying to control the mass of water that flowed from the sewerage system from manholes and drains even in the streets of the city centre. The road to the town cemetery was also partially flooded.
There were also many inconveniences in Franciacorta, such as along the Sp510 near Iseo: the rain dragged branches, mud and debris from the mountains until it invaded part of the road surface. TO Passirano a river of water formed along Via Roma.
TO Rovato Corso Bonomelli was invaded by water which descended copiously from Erbusco: the Municipality ordered the opening of the lamination tanks upstream of the town, which greatly limited the damage. Despite this, several rooms of the Gigli high school were flooded, all the underpasses of the railway line, garages and cellars in the San Donato neighborhoods (via Palazzina flooded) and in the cemetery, where an irrigation canal invaded the road.
Under a thick blanket of clouds, bad weather was reported throughout our province also due to the strong gusts of wind that raged on buildings and warehouses. Torrential rain also in Sulzanowhere a landslide struck not far from the «La Darsena» restaurant, a boulder blocked part of the watercourse of a torrent and where at the moment the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo railway line would also be unusable, reopened only a few weeks ago due to other problems. Further checks on this aspect will be carried out tomorrow morning.

TO Gussago the La Canale stream, a river artery that runs longitudinally through the center of the town, flooded. The streets were flooded and many shops flooded with water from via IV Novembre, to via De Gasperi, up to via Gramsci. The civil protection, firefighters and Carabinieri intervened on site to clear the most critical points: «This time the bad weather hit us hard – said the mayor of Gussago, Giovanni Coccoli -. Unfortunately, the Canale torrent has overflowed in several places in the town and is causing damage to houses and basements. Luckily there is no damage to people. The problem is that there are more storms during the night. We hope they are not of this magnitude and that the water flows away from the streets as soon as possible.”

Not even Valtrompia was spared from yet another wave of bad weather: in Sarezzo the worst was feared for a long time, because a car ended up in the Mella river. It was only possible to clarify after the intervention of the Fire Brigade that it was a parked car in which fortunately there was no one.
