Dario Zanolli, missing for 11 years from Forno di Zoldo. Family members launch final appeal, then “presumed death”

VAL DI ZOLDO – In all these years not a single element has emerged that could give us hope of finding him alive Dario Zanolli, the ice cream maker who passed away at the age of 69 from his home in Forno di Zoldo on Sunday 14 July 2013. Now the family, through the lawyer Antenella Calabro, has made the publications in the Official Journal with the request for declaration of presumed death at the Court of Belluno. As per the procedure, there is an invitation “to anyone who has information about the deceased to send it to the Registry of the Court of Belluno within 6 months of publication”. If no one comes forward then there will be a presumed death sentence.

THE RESEARCHES

Dario Zanolli lived in via dei Sassi, 21, in the then municipality of Forno di Zoldo. That 14 July 2013 he disappeared into thin air, after parking his car in front of the petrol station at the exit of the Forno di Zoldo tunnel. Various searches were carried out which occupied the rescuers for days: around forty people, including rescuers from the stations of Val di Zoldo, Val Fiorentina, Pieve di Cadore, Longarone, Belluno and Agordo, financiers, firefighters. The artificial lake of Pontesei was also explored: the operation lasted an entire afternoon involving the Alpine River Speleo (Saf) group of the Belluno fire brigade, the divers from Vicenza and the volunteers from Zoldo Alto, in the presence of the soldiers of a patrol of the carabinieri of Forno di Zoldo. The search was carried out at the mouth of the lake, where the stream enters. In the long journeys, all the paths of Casera Vecchia di Col Marsang, Vallazza, Mugon Fagarè, Pra de Val Fagarè, Belvedere, Casera Mezzodì, Crode de Romano, Castelin were explored, as well as the waters of the Maè.

THE APPEALS

The long discussions began after the family members reported the disappearance, formalized on 18 July 2013, and ended a few days later due to the lack of useful elements. The announcement with the request for information from anyone who can provide it is still visible in the pages of the television program that deals with missing persons “Who saw him?”: «At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a colored t-shirt and technical trousers. gray and a light backpack. She may have brought with her a red fleece and a pair of sunglasses.” The man, who was 69 years old at the time of his disappearance, had white hair and mustache, light eyes and was of medium height.
