Rome, 8 June 2024 – On 8 and 9 June we will vote for European elections 2024. The polling stations will be open on Saturday from 3pm to 11pm, and on Sunday from 7am to 3pm. How much will the voters earn in this election round? seat presidents, The scrutineers hey list representatives? The compensation was slightly increased compared to the past: in the Election Day decree the government established an increase for polling station staff. The circular of the Ministry of the Interior n. 34/24 explains the “competences due to the members of the seats and expenses for the technical organization on the occasion of the election of the members of the European Parliament due to Italy”.

The government decree has set a 15% increase to the members of the section electoral offices and special polling stations “in consideration of the extension of voting operations”. Furthermore, the Ministry of the Interior always lets you know, for each election to be carried out at the same time as the first and up to the fifth, “the fees are increased, respectively, by 37.00 euros and 25.00 euros”. The members of the section electoral offices can recognize up to a maximum of four increases. And so in case of European elections without pairings in the ordinary seats the president’s compensation is equal to 120 euros plus 15%, or 138 euros. Scrutineers and secretaries have the fee of 96 euros always increased by 15%, for a total of 110.40 euros. In the special polling stations the presidents get 82.80 euros and the scrutineers 56.35 euros.

European and administrative elections

If the European elections take place in conjunction with the regional elections or with the first round of the local electionsi polling station presidents receive 209 euros and 50 cents. For scrutineers and secretary the compensation amounts to 163 euros. In the special polling stations the presidents get 103.50 euros and the scrutineers 70.15 euros. If the European elections are held in conjunction with municipal and district elections, the compensation for presidents amounts to 246.50 euros, for scrutineers and secretaries it is 188 euros in ordinary polling stations. In the special polling stations, the presidents receive 103.50 euros and the scrutineers 70.15 euros. In the case of a combination between European, regional and municipal seats in the ordinary seats, the presidents get 283.50 euros and the scrutineers 213 euros; in the special ones the presidents get 103.50 euros and the tellers 70.15 euros.

Expenses

Plus, alone chairmen of the polling stations mission treatment is available for those who have to travel at least 10 kilometers from the municipality of residence.
