The police of the station Bari San Nicola arrested two homeless girls, aged 25 and 24 and with police records, suspected of having turned 3 thefts in a home of great value in as many homes located in the city center.
Jewels and money for 100 thousand euros
The Carabinieri, having acquired reports of the events – crimes committed on 18, 26 and 30 May 2024, following which gold and silver jewellery, watches, cash and designer bags with an estimated value of almost 100 thousand euros were removed , took steps to acquire surveillance images of the area and, thanks to the collaboration of one of the victims and colleagues from the State Police who intervened following a report to NUE 112, identified the 2 suspects.
The PM on duty, informed about the investigative findings and the application of the pre-precautionary measure, ordered the transfer to the Trani prison, then requesting the validation of the arrest and the application of the same precautionary measure to the Bari GIP.
Custody in prison
During the hearing, the Judge, not considering the danger of escape to exist, did not validate the arrest, but in light of the clear indications of guilt in 2 of the episodes narrated (those of 18 and 26 May), he ordered the precautionary measure in prison .
