Discouragement dominates in the footwear district of San Mauro Pascoli, exacerbated by the latest report on exports from the Emilia-Romagna districts by the Studies and Research Directorate of Intesa San Paolo, just published. The periodic monitor, in fact, only confirms that paralysis of sales that San Mauro entrepreneurs have long denounced: in 2023, the district recorded a collapse of -6.6% in exports compared to 2022.
Yet, even in a decidedly unfavorable period, there are those who try to kick the distrust and look forward: this is the case of Baldinini, who on 12 June will inaugurate the first single-brand store in Berlin, in K’Damm, one of the most famous shopping streets. The opening, one year after the ‘shop-in-shop’ at the Lafayette department store in Berlin, confirms the brand’s development plan, aimed at strengthening its presence on the German market. The Baldinini store, at number 29 Kurfürstendamm, has a surface area of approximately 135 m2. The interior design faithfully reflects the themes of the flagship store on Via della Spiga, in Milan: neutral colors prevail, in the gray and natural palette, with inserts in wood, marble and hints of the iconic ‘Japanese maple’, the ‘Japanese Maple. “We are proud to have kept what we promised and to have managed to follow up on a targeted and constant growth plan in the first European footwear market – comments Christian Prazzoli, CEO of Baldinini -. An ambitious objective, which responds to the needs of a new audience and is already giving good feedback in terms of interest and sales”. Baldinini boasts a deep-rooted presence of single-brand stores at an international level and several retailers in multi-brand stores in at least 50 countries. Germany is part of a broader process of expansion into new markets, which have not traditionally been part of the company’s business area.
