NewTuscia – VITERBO – We receive and publish – Following today’s meeting between the Mayor and the representatives of the CGIL, CISL, UIL unions, the following is sent:

The announced meeting between the mayor Chiara Frontini and the union representatives took place this morning to take stock of the recent events relating to the evaluation of the organisation’s employees. The meeting was attended by Stefania Pomante, general secretary of the CGIL Civitavecchia-Viterbo and Elisa Durantini, general secretary of the CISL. During the meeting and after in-depth discussion and after evaluating the observations of the confederations, the mayor deemed it appropriate to clarify that: “The sentences pronounced were strong and I am sorry if anyone felt offended, the intent was certainly not to discriminate or insult , but encourage us all to do better, to activate an evaluation mechanism that truly responds to everyone’s productivity, respecting what everyone can give.” the Mayor stated during the meeting “The municipal machine works overall, but there are some critical issues that must be addressed all together in the best way also because every malfunction falls on the shoulders of the citizens. Malfunction for which, let’s be clear, we obviously assume responsibility and undertake to address quickly, in compliance with the relevant national labor contract and in comparison with the trade unions of the category.” continued the Mayor.

“This personnel administration has always invested, with horizontal progressions to the maximum allowed, the objective projects, even the first industrial doctorates created by the Municipality of Viterbo with UNITUS. From this certainly unpleasant episode, we take the cue to look within ourselves and improve our systems for assessing merit and supporting staff qualification. The profitable and constructive relationship with the union is a cornerstone because having good union relations is fundamental for us.” concludes Mayor Frontini at the end of the meeting.

In considering the clarification produced and the clarifications of the Mayor an important signal capable of restoring correct trade union relations, CGIL and CISL are confident that the planned meeting on the merits with the category could represent a turning point with respect to the unpleasant affair. Maurizio Bizzoni also took part in the meeting, representing Uil, who however did not share the document.
