“Years have passed, in the meantime I have done a thousand concerts all over the world and yet every time I perform in front of you I feel the same emotion, because for me it is always the first time”. It is the eleventh time in Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples for Gigi D’Alessio, who will reach the record of 18 concerts in one of the most sought-after squares by artists by June 16th and with these words he greets the audience, starting “Gigi – Someone like you – The emotion continues”. From 9.21pm to midnight the party, which alternates on two stages, opens with “Never give up”, for four voices: the Neapolitan singer-songwriter is accompanied by Geolier, Guè and Clementino. The public doesn’t have to wait long to see the live performance of the single which anticipated the release of Gigi D’Alessio’s latest work, “Fra”. “You see, music is made up of encounters, which beyond artistic encounters are also human encounters – he says introducing ‘Nu dispietto con Elodie, the mysterious female voice who created so much curiosity, until yesterday – I for this concert and for this last year, I gave myself a gift, a new record and I invited a lot of friends. This album came out a few weeks ago. It was preceded by a duet single with an artist who is not Neapolitan, but who is Neapolitan at heart. I haven’t told anyone who this voice was and I won’t tell you now either, out of spite.”
