The implementation of the single Terzo Valico/Nodo di Genova/Campasso project continues with the construction sites which will be concentrated in the summer months when the new central computerized apparatus of Genova Brignole will be activated, the demolition of the railway viaduct on the Polcevera river will begin in scope of the construction activities of the Bivio Fegino – Porto Storico connection and of the renovated Parco del Campasso and the construction activities of the two new tracks between Genova Voltri and Genova Sampierdarena and between Genova Principe and Genova Brignole will continue.
Furthermore, a new phase of interventions will be launched with a total value of 84 million euros, also financed with Pnrr funds, which will make it possible to improve the regularity of the railway service on the Genoa – Acqui Terme line. In this phase, the renewal and rehabilitation of 12 km of track between Campo Ligure and Ovada will be carried out, as will a new underpass with the removal of architectural barriers in the Prasco Cremolino station.
In addition to these interventions, extraordinary maintenance works will be added to the Colla, Pre di Mè, Turchino tunnels and the Roveresso viaduct, as well as further maintenance works on the armament and technological systems. At the same time, upon completion of the ongoing authorization process, the large construction site of the Mele artificial tunnel will begin. To allow the interventions to be carried out continuously and both during the day and at night, some lines will be closed to railway traffic during the summer.
The interventions will affect the Genoa-Acqui Terme, Genoa-Busalla lines and, more generally, the Genoa hub where the train circulation program will be remodeled with connections that will be canceled along the entire route, partially or will follow alternative itineraries.
