In a solemn ceremony open to citizens, the Command of the Maritime District Office of Termini Imerese today saw the handover between Lieutenant Luca Turrisi and Lieutenant Francesco De Giglio.
The event took place in the presence of illustrious figures, including Rear Admiral Raffaele Macauda, Maritime Director of Western Sicily and Head of the Maritime Department of Palermo, as well as numerous religious, military and civil authorities from the region.
Commander Turrisi, during his farewell speech, expressed sincere thanks to the staff of the Maritime District Office of Termini Imerese and of the Local Maritime Office of Cefalù for the commitment and dedication shown during his mandate.
He also highlighted the fundamental role of the office as a point of reference for the territory, underlining its positive impact on the port community and on all those who derive their livelihood from the sea.
The new commander, Lieutenant De Giglio, thanked his predecessor for the collaboration and work done, demonstrating his commitment to continuing in the direction traced by Turrisi.
He ensured maximum commitment in continuing to support the maritime and port cluster, which is fundamental for the local economy and maritime safety.
This change of command represents a significant moment for the Termini Imerese Coast Guard, which continues to guarantee security and support in the maritime activities of the region, consolidating the bond between the navy and the local community.
Today’s ceremony not only confirms the office’s tradition of excellence and service, but also reaffirms the importance of a smooth and well-coordinated transition between commanders for the benefit of the maritime community and the people of Termini Imerese.
