When Evelyne Viens arrived in Rome, she did so with a heavy medal around her neck. A medal with the proverbial double face, because the prestige of a success that accompanied the athlete’s value was accompanied by the expectations that that achievement had generated.
In just under two months, Viens will defend that medal with the Canadian women’s national team in France, at the Paris Olympics, but she will do so following an already golden season for her.
Because at the first stage of her journey with the women’s Roma the Canadian attacker won a Scudetto, an Italian Cup, the entire Giallorossi environment and the Women’s Serie A.
