Bronte, mayor launches interventions to prevent fires: coordination of forces will be monitored

In Bronte, to deal with the fire emergency, a coordination of forces has been set up that will monitor to prevent the countryside from burning like last year.

Yesterday a meeting was held in the city council room, organized by mayor Pino Firrarello. The mayor, in fact, in light of communications from the Prefecture of Catania, which underlined that Bronte was the second largest municipality in the province in terms of surface area of ​​land burned, called a summit to plan all the interventions necessary to prevent fires.

Present, in addition to the deputy mayor Salvatore Pizzuto and the commander of the municipal police Domenico Fiorito, the technical office of the municipality represented by Salvatore Caudullo, and the forestry detachments of Bronte, with the inspector Francesco Rizzo and Maniace with the commander Antonino Montagno. Also present were Stefano Iacona from Anas, Armando Paparo from Misericordia and Antonio Longhitano from Civil Protection.

An analysis was made of the risk factors and the need for citizens and organizations to clean the land of weeds in compliance with the ordinances.

“If last year we were reported for the number of fires recorded – concluded Firrarello – this year we will have to be remembered because the territory remained unscathed”.
