Flood, new 50 million funds for businesses

Good news for flooded businesses. After the announcement by the President of the Region Eugenio Giani of the arrival of the 66 million destined for flooded families and businesses, yesterday the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy allocated 50 million “for the productive redevelopment of those many territories that have suffered extensive damage caused by the flood.” This was announced by the deputy and regional coordinator of Fratelli d’Italia Fabrizio Rossi. Funds which are added to those allocated in recent days by the government and which allow the many businesses brought to their knees on the tragic night between 2 and 3 November when a river of water and mud invaded houses and warehouses, sending months of work and orders went up in smoke. In particular, the money, the result of a program agreement signed by Mimit with the Region, will be allocated to the reconversion and productive redevelopment in the territories of the provinces of Prato, Florence, Livorno, Pisa, Pistoia, Massa-Carrara and Lucca, for which it was a national state of emergency was declared. A technical committee made up of three members, two representing the Ministry of Business and one representing the Region, will monitor the interventions financed with 50 million euros through the support of Invitalia. In this case, the money will only be allocated to businesses.

As regards the 66 million, the funds have actually arrived in the Region’s coffers and the regional offices are already working to set up the procedures for the concrete disbursement of compensation to all those who have suffered damage from the flood and are entitled to it: up to 5 thousand euros are provided for flooded families and up to 20 thousand euros for businesses.

Still on the subject of refreshments, the 25 million allocated by the Region are added: of these, 16 million and 970 thousand euros have already been paid to 6437 families, while 958 requests for a total of 2 million and 874 thousand euros, resources that will arrive in the families’ current accounts by June 15th. 1123 applications remain to be completed, while for 853 requests the Region was unable to provide the contribution because the beneficiary’s IBAN was missing.
