GORIZIA – Leaves tomorrow, Friday 7 Junethe second edition dl Language Festival on the initiative of the cultural association Kulturhaus Görz, to open a reflection on the use of languages ​​in an area of ​​profound multilingualism like that from Goriziawhich can in all respects be considered linguistic heart of Europe.

Expected during the two days of the festival – scheduled for Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June – at the Court of Casa Ascoliguests of international importance involved at various levels on the topic of languages: the well-known Slovenian writer Goran Vojnović, the anthropologist Marco Aime, the Austrian writer Günter Neuwirth, the writer and poet Mary Barbara Tolusso and the Italian-Togolese writer Kossi Komla-Ebri.

Opening tomorrow, Friday 7 Juneat 6.00 pm with him writer Austrian Günter Neuwirthauthor of famous detective novels set in Triestein the meeting The charm of Trieste: in search of clues. The meeting, including dialogues and readings in German with translation, will be led by the President of Kulturhaus Görz Jens Kolata. His crime novels, which he began publishing in 2008, are set in Habsburg Trieste: the series with the cases of his protagonist, Inspector Bruno Zerbini, became a great editorial success. Precisely this year his latest work, “Südbahn nach Triest“.

The presence of the anthropologist is expected at 7.00 pm Marco Aime, professor at the University of Genoa, who will reflect on theme of borders, including linguistic ones, from an anthropological point of view in the meeting (moderated again by Jens Kolata with Rossana Puntin) which takes its title from her book “Borders. Reality and inventions” (ed. Gruppo Abele editions, 2023). In the evening at 8.30pm appointment with Goran Voinović one of the most successful writers on the Slovenian cultural and literary scene. With him Slavica Radinja will talk about “Linguistic nuances: between slang and standard language”.
