Fire brigade, department head Bellomo retired

Farewell ceremony to the head of the Enna fire brigade, Pietro Bellomo, who has retired. The police together with the commander of Enna Francesco Pascucci and the command doctor, Edoardo Campione, greeted the department head with sirens blaring.

The carreer

Hired in the fire brigade in 1991, after the training course, Bellomo was assigned to Piacenza. In 1992 he was then transferred to Catania and only in 1996 did he take up service in Enna. In 2014 the policeman was promoted to team leader and in 2020 to department head. Bellomo then served at the Leonforte detachment as detachment leader. Even there, a few weeks ago, in the presence of colleagues and authorities, a ceremony was organized in which the former mayor of Leonforte, Carmelo Barbera and the current one, Piero Livolsi, were also present, who testified to the climate of collaboration between the detachment and the municipal administration.

The commendation

And precisely for the commitment that Bellomo, married, father of two children and already a grandfather, made, he received a commendation from the then prefect of Enna, Giusi Scaduto and from the then commander of the Enna fire brigade, Salvatore Rizzo for the his intervention in a fire in the area above Montesalvo, where Enna’s antennas are located, which threatened homes. Bellomo, then, even though free from service, actively collaborated with the Civil Protection Agency.

The message from the commander and deputy

In a note delivered to the policeman by the commander, Francesco Pascucci and by the deputy commander Roberto Spitaleri we read “The department head Pietro Bellomo has always made his utmost commitment, carried out the tasks assigned to him with great professionalism, obtaining unanimous recognition of esteem. On behalf of myself and all my colleagues in the command, heartfelt thanks for the work carried out, with the best wishes for a peaceful future still full of well-being and satisfaction”.
