With their attitude, rather than uniting a territory, they wanted to divide citizens and play an entirely political battle on people’s skin in the face of a catastrophic event.”
These are the tones used by the PD provincial secretary, Alessandro Barattoni, to respond to the avalanche of accusations and controversies raised in recent days by the local leaders – and by the national ones in the area for electoral campaign issues – of the Brothers of Italy.
“They started last year by fueling the hoax of the 55 million that would not have been spent by the Region – the secretary points out -, they continued with the ballet on the institution of the commissioner, then continuing with the shameful back and forth on compensation for citizens and businesses. For months they have confused the role of the parties with that of the institutions and now they ask that not even a voice be raised asking for compensation for Romagna. It’s about time Musumeci and the others came here to explain why people had to go to the bank to ask for loans or have had to erode their savings because the State did not reimburse the damages as had been done for all other natural disasters”.
“The Modena district, hit by the earthquake, has restarted today and has returned to being a strong economic reality because the State and all the institutions have been close to that land – comments Barattoni -. Here we have chosen to abandon citizens and businesses, have the courage to come and explain why. Otherwise they will start working and finally get the money to the citizens.”
