Mayor Cisint replies to Moretti and Bullian

“The duo Diego Moretti and Enrico Bullian never misses an opportunity to rant and talk nonsense against the Municipality of Monfalcone. Without any foundation or real knowledge of the situation, in this new episode they accuse the municipal administration of dealing with the management of Isontina Ambiente by even promoting a sort of guerrilla war against the institution, while we are simply carrying out the necessary exercise of control and protection on the choices made by society, in the interests of citizens, businesses and workers.

We are not going to take the easy route, that is, to cover the company’s inefficiencies with TARI increases, which, from what Moretti and Bullian write, for them seems to be the only viable solution.

We, however, are interested in defending users, because we care about not having to pay taxes that have a heavy impact on the pockets of citizens and businesses, but, evidently, for the two regional councilors of the left, increasing taxation constitutes entertainment and a usual practice.

For us it is exactly the opposite, we are a spur to improvement, we want our owned company to be structured and adapt to a market, that of waste, which no longer leaves room for improvisation.

The current management, in fact, generates serious diseconomies which inevitably impact the community. Moretti and Bullian should go and read the conclusions of the study that we have entrusted to Professor Stefano Pozzoli, who, among other things, is a consultant on financial statements of investee companies for Anci, because in this way they would avoid substantiating their claims on nonsense and would discover the validity of the position that the Municipality has been supporting for some time regarding the cost-effectiveness factors to be introduced in the management of Isambiente so as not to pass the costs of the company’s inefficiencies onto taxpayers. Problems such as the inadequacy of the territorial dimension, the fate of the composting plant, the staff structure and outsourcing make clear the need for a strategy with high-profile industrial plans, within which to identify solutions to obtain improved performance and increase the operational functionality of the structure.

The evidence of the facts shows us that for Isambiente there is an urgent need, which can no longer be postponed, for the completion of the vertical integration of closing the waste cycle, made up of investments in economically sustainable plants, with an expansion of the audience of users constituted by that integration. horizontal that aggregation with other managers can bring.

Monfalcone has fought and will continue to fight on these issues. And if the budget being approved today, Monday 17th, brings a positive closing of 700,000 euros, also the result of the downward renegotiation of the Istat indices with suppliers, it is also thanks to the meaningful indications provided by our administration, which has never failed to highlight the critical points to improve, not out of guerrilla warfare but out of a sense of responsibility in one’s role and respect towards the citizens, businesses and workers of Isambiente.

Asking the two regional councilors Moretti and Bullian to address the issues of our territory in an in-depth and constructive way seems to be a wasted effort because the objective of their interventions is always only that of the prejudicial controversy against Monfalcone. But, above all, Isa Ambiente must be removed from the vision of an organization serving party interests, when instead its mission is to be an instrumental organization capable of providing services in the best possible way and with the lowest costs, because the only interest of those who administer must be to defend citizens and businesses”.
