However, the preferences obtained by Modi’s party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), were below expectations. According to Times of Indiathe coalition has already reached 272 seats in the lower house, which has 543 deputies, well below the 303 obtained in the 2019 elections.
INDIA, the opposition coalition which includes 26 parties and is led by Rahul Gandhi, is expected to obtain 235 seats. A result not sufficient to win a majority, but still above the expectations and estimates of pollsters.
