Surprise for the little patients of Marzana: the Caldiero firefighters bring toys.

The Caldiero firefighters visited the Dentistry service of the Marzana Hospital to bring smiles and toys. The recipients were young patients suffering from neurodevelopmental disorders of the autism spectrum. The visit was an opportunity to dispense games intended to be used as a positive stimulus during dental care.

The outpatient activity of Dentistry service for young patients with disabilities at Ulss 9 Scaligera it is carried out at the Marzana and San Bonifacio hospitals. Here they are performed treatment under anesthesia. In close collaboration with the Marzana Autism Center, the service adopts preventive and minimally invasive approaches, to ensure appropriate dental care for children with difficulty.

There donating games represents an important contribution to making dental visits less stressful and more welcoming for small patients. It’s not the first time that i Caldiero firefighters demonstrate their closeness and their support for this cause. Already in 2022, they had donated USB devices on which the staff of Autism center and the Marzana dentistry service I had uploaded video motivational. These videos, part of the “Dentistry and Autism” project, they are used by children at home with their parents to “familiarize yourself” with oral hygiene and with the first dental visits.
