The Gold Number It’s not exactly brand new. In 10eLotto it already exists, for example, and allows you to win, if caught, even higher prizes than those to which you would otherwise be entitled. Yes, because the Customs and Monopolies Agency has just communicated, with specific managerial determination, its desire to also include it in the history of the Italian lottery.

The new formula will initially be introduced on an experimental basis: we will see it for the first time starting June 12th next and will be available for a period of 18 months. After this year and a half, it will be decided, based on the results obtained, whether to make it permanent or not. The Golden Number, it is necessary to underline, it will not be mandatory: the player will always be able to continue to choose how to “compose” his combination and decide, in total freedom, whether to bet on this option or go with the classic one.

The combination is therefore optional, although it is understood that completing your ticket with the Gold Number entitles you to even more attractive prizes and multiplies your chances of winning. All that remains is to understand, at this point, how this new game formula works and what will change if a player wants to combine his combination with the option, which is new, as mentioned, for the Lotto game.

Lotto, the new formula drives players crazy

The Gold Number in the Lotto will essentially be represented by fifth number that will be drawn on each of the wheels of the beloved Lotto game. You win if there is a correspondence, as stated in the directorial determination, “between the Gold Number, identified for each wheel, and any of the numbers predicted in the Lotto game on the same wheel”.

You can participate in this new gaming formula either by manually filling out the betting slip or via digital devices, taking care to select the option called “Gold Number the Lotto game” when betting a few euros on both, three and four. The cost of the option, in the event that you decide to include it, is equal to the amount chosen for the Lotto game.

The winning amount (up you can find the tables with specific details), as provided by the Customs and Monopolies Agency, “it is added to any winnings obtained from the Lotto gamewithin the limit established by the 1982 law”.
