Everything is normal with electricity – even if work continues – in the areas of Oristano hit yesterday by a serious blackout, which created various uncomfortable situations, with lifts blocked in various buildings, alarm systems in disarray and activities economic ones who found themselves managing the emergency.

Several reports came from the Sa Rodia neighborhood and the area around the Porta Nuova shopping center, which recorded the most serious situation.

This morning all 40 shops in Porta Nuova are open as usual, but yesterday late in the morning they had to lower their shutters, losing almost a day of holiday work, with a greater presence of potential customers. He managed not only to close the Conad Superstore, thanks to the availability of an autonomous generator. Other businesses reopened only after 5pm, some had to give up completely.

The cause of the blackout was a major fault along the medium voltage line on the section at the northern entrance to the city, right next to the Rimedio bridge.

The workers and technicians of Enel and the external companies responsible intervened immediately to repair the fault. The teams also set up some uninterruptible power supplies to counter-power some cabins and contain the damage, limiting the area affected by the blackout.

The situation was aggravated by a fault which in recent days had already blocked the line parallel and complementary to the one which today generated the sudden interruption of electricity.

The shopping center was completely dark yesterday afternoon around 4.30pm
