Last June 7th, at 6.00 pm, the Cloister of the Municipality of Rovito was transformed into a catwalk of solidarity and cultural identity with the presentation of the “Identity Pigotte”. These unique dolls, born in the “Le Signore delle Pigotte” tailoring workshop of the MC Culture Conference of Savoia della Presila, are the result of a project that combines the art of tailoring with the generosity of volunteering.
With the help of the “Wheel of Smiles” volunteers, the Pigottes were dressed in clothes made from fabrics by the Identitaria designer Luigia Granata, known for her creations that enhance the beauty and tradition of Calabria. Each Pigotta is a work of art that tells a story, a piece of land, a fragment of identity.
The event was an opportunity to admire the craftsmanship and social commitment that are intertwined in these creations. The Identity Pigotte are not just dolls, but messengers of a deeper message: that of the importance of local culture and active contribution to the community.
A special event, where art meets solidarity, and where each Pigotta adopted becomes support for the charitable initiatives supported by the “Wheel of Smiles”. An evening of celebration of the cultural identity and generous heart of our community.
The conference was attended by Luigia Granata, president of the MC Culture Conference of Savoia della Presila, Monica Perri, Unicef provincial president, Nunzia Mele, Cristina’s member and pediatrician, Flora Brazzalotto, Cristina’s member who oversaw the Laboratory, Elvira Oriolo, president of the literary prize.
Instead, Giuseppe De Santis, mayor of Rovito, and Caterina De Rose, vice-president of the Presila Conference, “brought” greetings.
