He feels ill and goes into cardiac arrest, the mayor performs resuscitation on him and saves his life. It happened yesterday evening, in Trivento, on the sidelines of the public meeting organized inside the multipurpose building for the presentation of the list in support of the outgoing mayor. The event had just ended when an elderly man, as the participants flowed towards the exit, felt ill and collapsed to the ground, starting to gasp until he lost consciousness. The confusion immediately spread among those present who tried to help him, while some were preparing to call 118. Mayor Pasquale Corallo, a doctor by profession and one of the speakers at the meeting, attracted by the screams and realizing that he was not there with a second to spare, he immediately rushed to the victim’s aid and performed cardiac massage with his bare hands. In a few minutes the man regained consciousness and reopened his eyes, causing the crowd to explode into shouts of joy and a long applause of encouragement. The elderly man was then entrusted to the care of the 118 doctors and transported by ambulance to the hospital to undergo all the necessary investigations and subsequent monitoring.
