Fatal collision between two motorbikes in the province of Grosseto. In Scansano, along provincial road 159, two people riding two motorbikes died in an accident. India ambulance from Scansano, the Pegaso 2 helicopter, carabinieri and firefighters were on site.
The motorbikes were proceeding in opposite directions in the stretch between Preselle and Pancole, in the municipality of Scansano. The victims are a nineteen-year-old and a thirty-five-year-old. The aid provided by the health workers and the intervention of Pegasus were useless.
Heartfelt appeal from Maria Bice Ginesi, mayor of Scansano, after yet another fatal accident on Via Scansanese: “Two more deaths, two young lives burned on our roads which, we all know, especially at weekends become tracks where motorcyclists engage in real own competitions at crazy speeds where the limit is 50/70 kilometers per hour. On behalf of the municipal administration and all citizens, I ask that the Police and Carabinieri intensify their checks, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, that they stop them and fine them, and if necessary, seize the vehicles to check if they are in order. At stake are not only the lives of our children but also the safety and security of innocent motorists who suddenly find themselves in front of them and risk being involved in inevitable accidents.”
