New life for Ronco Lido which, heavily damaged by the 2023 flood, is affected by various redevelopment interventions, for a total of 4.5 million euros. “The start of the construction site is expected by summer 2024 and upon completion we will return to the city and the neighborhood a hub for greenery, sociality and sport – states the Sports councilor and candidate of the League, Daniele Mezzacapo -. Soon a facility that has been closed for years will return to planters. Another beautiful victory for Forlì and for this Administration. A further piece that is added to an investment of almost 30 million euros in the redevelopment of sports facilities, compared to 5 million in the previous five years”. Specifically, for Ronco Lido, 350 thousand euros have been allocated for extraordinary maintenance works aimed at post-flood restoration. “These are preparatory works for the start of the works foreseen by the Pnrr which has altered the state of the area – continues Mezzacapo -. This first phase of work will begin at the end of this month.”
With Pnrr funds, 2.9 million euros, the project involves the construction of a new multifunctional sports complex. “First of all, the existing building will be demolished (a clause included in the tender in which the Municipality participated to obtain the financing, ed.), once it is used as a restaurant – continues the League candidate -. Then we will proceed with the renovation of the important arboreal heritage of the park, the installation of a new multifunctional sports facility for the practice of outdoor disciplines and the creation of a refreshment point, with the aim of creating a recreational and sporting point not only for the neighborhood but for the entire city and the surrounding area”. To all this, we add 1,250,000 euros, a sum co-financed by the European Union through the Pr Fesr request, to create a new building which constitutes an excerpt of completion compared to a larger valorization project and would allow the entire project to be completed intervention by providing the area with spaces to support initiatives.
“The decision taken by the Administration to provide Ronco Lido with a space for the citizens of this section of the city also derived from the requests received from the Neighborhood Committee to have an available space – concludes Mezzacapo -. Furthermore, considering the landscape and historical value of the place – the immediate proximity of a SIC area (Site of Community Importance) and a route on the Ronco river which has become part of the Via Romea Germanica – the new building would be also an information, rest and refreshment point serving all those who cross the route. This project is still under development but the related construction site will start in 2025. All this is proof that with commitment and dedication this Administration has managed to obtain important results, paying attention to all disciplines and sports facilities, even those left by the left in a total state of abandonment and neglect for decades as in the case of Ronco Lido”.
