From the 5 to the 9 June at the Gallery Five Open Art Mountains Of Rome the sculpture jewels of the social laboratory will be on display “Oroora”, Of Enrique Gonzales Torres. The creations of the participants of the course held by Mary Paola Ranfi they will dialogue with those of the “resident artists” of the project Five Jewelscreated by Monica Snipers. The theme of the exhibition, which it will inaugurate Wednesday 5 June at hours 6.30pmAnd “Waterfall, Earth, air And fire, elements from the storytelling Of a lived”.

These 4 elements play an important role in our life, as everything contains one or more of them at the same time. The aim is to reiterate the importance of their presence within our existence and our daily lives. The hectic routine of our days sometimes makes us lose sight of basic values, the fundamental things in life. Just as the purpose of the social laboratory is to recover interpersonal relationships and create a network of relationships, so the theme of the jewel sculpture course, wanted by Enrique Gonzales in collaboration with Evelin Pettiglicreated and held by Mary Paola Ranfi, wants to focus on the primary elements of existence. A narration of one’s experience through what Water, earth, air and fire represent.

The “Oroora – social laboratory of goldsmithing and creativity” Association was born in 2011, thanks to the will of the Master goldsmith Enrique Gonzales Torres, in the spaces of the River Port. The intent is to create a meeting point where people of different cultures and generations can exchange knowledge, collaborate and develop their skills and sensitivity. Interculturality, creative activities, socialization and training of future artisans are the primary objectives of the project. “Oroora” functions as an open laboratory for the development of innovative craft and training projects. Since its foundation, the association has been self-financing with its activities and lives off the energy and creative resources of its participants.

With this objective, the Sculpture Jewels are born which contain symbolic, social and evocative meanings. The jewel sculpture designed and created by Mary Paola Ranfi represents a mythological figure that is described by the words of Anna Fiorelli. “The Dragon is a powerful flaming crested figure, in which good and evil, east and west meet, reaching a balance of opposing forces thanks to the energy of the “frozen” water of the rock crystal, and the long tongues of fire. It is first and foremost within ourselves, our search between light and darkness, in that hidden unconscious part which intimidates and fascinates us at the same time… This is a challenge which cannot be escaped and which can only be overcome through awareness, listening and the acceptance of “our inner dragon”. “What you deny subjugates you. What you accept transforms you.” (CG Jung)

For Valentina Baini Earth, air, water and fire are the elements with which nature designs its architecture. It is mother nature, in fact, who with her incessant work creates and undoes, generates and regenerates. A tribute to life, which is born and reborn.

Elena Bellu he sees in the water the sinuosity and tenacity of nature, which he represents with the fish named Betta Splendes; a fish with a sinuous movement like water, but a fighter like nature.

For Christina Calderini air is movement and life, and it is the canvas on which the acrobats, twirling, draw lines and vortices. A tribute to circus culture.

Francesca Roman De Angelis he refers to Utagawa Hiroshige’s “The whirlpools of Naruto” and writes about water: “it caresses or overwhelms, seducing in the deep whirlpools, from the abyss it returns me to the world on silvery foam.”

While of the air Jade From Old says: “Breath of life, powerful and light breeze, soap bubbles hover dancing, sparkling in the sun’s rays.”

Juliana Franceschini focuses on water and fire. Water knows how to be calm and placid, it knows how to adapt and change while always remaining true to itself. Fire is energy and power, impetus and elegant ardor. The meeting between these two elements aims to represent a profound soul but fueled by a burning strength.

Enrique Gonzales Torres summarizes his work with a poetic phrase: “In the aridity of the earth, the freedom of the sky.”

Also Isabella Muccini he recites verses to describe his creation. “In the silent dawn the dew shines, while floating thoughts hover in her mind, like passing clouds in a summer sky. Sparkling reflections, mirror of my deepest dreams.”

Evelin Pettigli talks about conflicting feelings, which meet the Hope capable of making a flower bloom. “Storm sea, scorched land, fire that purifies, wind that blows, darkness in the heart.”

Tiziana Pietropaolo And Alexander Casciani express the belief that although technological evolution may evolve exponentially, in jewelery it will always be the manual skill of the individual that gives shape to the whole… the earth of our elements. “Just as the molecules of water and fire agitate, collide, amalgamate, explode in flashes of energy, so in the earth they calm down, in an apparent balance; a theater where these magnificent actors give life to eternal works, in perpetual harmony… sources of life. As in the elements, also in jewellery, new technologies, new techniques and new energies struggle in the spasmodic human evolution; but the theater where they can give life to themselves resides in the most ancient, ancestral manual skill, which gives shape to everything… Placing these crazy molecules.”

Joanna Rose he talks about water as sinuosity, “with a soft gurgle or impetuous roar, the symbol par excellence of life, rebirth and purification, a fluid that connects us to the world of dreams, imagination and the unconscious”.

Stefania Todini pays homage to the strength and courage of Iranian women. “The gaze hidden by a veil of Iranian women, on the free flight of a butterfly in the air. Desire for freedom, freedom denied, offended, oppressed, killed.”

Simona Setterbergrecalling the Scandinavian fairy tales he heard in his childhood, depicts the elements water, earth, air and fire like the woodland fairies who guard the enchantment of life.
