The Liguria Region gives voice to young people’s ideas through the “Lab Liguria! Transforming Ideas into Projects”. There are 3 projects awarded among the 22 that participated in the contest promoted by the regional department for Youth Policies in partnership with Aliseo, as part of “PG23 – Youth Project 2023”. Let’s talk about The Busking Contest, Illustration Market 2024 And Blue Seastem.

A competition, open to young people between 20 and 35 years old residing in our region, conceived by the Liguria Region as a tool to support the initiatives of young people individually or in groups, seeing their great potential as a resource for the community in the realization of their ideas. The invitation, launched on the occasion of the Orientations meeting last November, attracted the participation of 67 young people. 30 of them developed a project in the context of workshops, speaking spaces, meetings, performances, small events, culture, art, creativity, young people and education through social media, young people and communities.

“It is a joy to listen to their requests and needs and transform them into services” – declares Simona Ferro, regional councilor for youth policies -“We gave them the opportunity to be themselves and bring out their skills and competences, particularly in a planning manner. There were many young people who joined, 67 young people who presented 22 projects and today we are going to reward the first 3. It is not intended to be a deflationary system, but we wanted to symbolically give the opportunity to these 3 by giving a contribution of 5 thousand euros per project , to reward their courage, their desire to invent, innovate and create a new character that perhaps they themselves would not have known if they had not had this opportunity”.

AND Giulia Cancedda the creator of Buskig Contest, winning project of the tender. His is the only competition in Italy for street musicians, and this year marks its third edition. In a difficult field like that of music, Giulia wants to promote art, commitment and passion with her work. Key points are valorization of the territory and young artists, in a context like that of street music, very often subject to countless prejudices. For many it can simply represent a starting point, but for others it can also be a point of arrival, a stage in which to be oneself, outside of the superstructures and labels dictated by the rules of the world of entertainment.

“Coming from a complicated path like that of music, I see it as a step forward towards young people and towards art, like street music which is often not seen very well in Italy, and there are many prejudices about it – says Giulia Cancedda, creator of “Busking Contest”. In the absence of spaces in which young people can perform, many people decide to make street music the focus of their musical and life project. I’ve met guys who live off this, live off their passion. The message I want to send is that the road is not necessarily the starting point. I have followed a path as a singer-songwriter and I have experienced a few stages, and I realized that never more than on the street do I feel so free to express myself and be myself, in a path that very often forces you to compromise , to build characters”.
