Peace and non-violence, meeting with Nino Mantineo

MESSINA – “We must bring peace back to Europe, we must give back to the European Union its vocation and to young people the hope of a peaceful future”. This was stated by Antonino Mantineo, candidate from Messina for the European elections for the “Peace Earth Dignity” list, with leader Michele Santoro. Today, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm, the former councilor and former president of Cesv will meet young people in via Primo Settembre n. 165, in Messina, to discuss a topic that is more relevant than ever: “From the war system to the politics of peace and non-violence”.

Also speaking at the meeting will be Antonio Mazzeo, the imam Mohamed, the pastor of the Waldensian Church of Messina Francesco Sciotto, the Jesuit Felice Scalia, Alessia Alessi and Mariella Urzi, of the Tenda della Pace association. and Carmelo Chitè of the pro-Palestine Movement.

“Peace – stated Mantineo – is not just the absence of war, it is an indispensable good that must be built by establishing non-antagonistic relationships between States and by educating individuals and communities to mutual respect. The path to peace is difficult to travel but Europe cannot avoid walking along this path and working towards an end to hostilities between Ukraine and Russia and in the Middle East”.
