But which Palestine are we talking about?

Free Palestine from the river to the sea, the students shout without knowing either which river they are talking about or which sea they are referring to. Free Palestine, let’s recognize Palestine say the prime ministers of Spain, Ireland and Norway, without knowing on which borders to recognize it, with which currency, with which government, with which central bank etc. etc.

The words of come to mind Zahir Muhseinone of the most important leaders of the PLO between 1971 and 1979 who in an interview with a Dutch newspaper said «the Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means to continue our struggle for Arab unity against the State of Israel. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Today we talk about the existence of a Palestinian people for political and strategic reasons since Arab national interests require that the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” be assumed to oppose Zionism».

So let’s get the main point straight: Palestine does not exist, the Palestinian people do not exist by the self-admission of the so-called “Palestinian leaders”. There is no historical trace of a Palestinian people before the 1960s, nor of a Palestinian ruler, a Palestinian government, a Palestinian currency, a war led by the Palestinians, a historical finding that refers to a Palestinian civilization. Nothing at all nothing at all. Let’s ask ourselves some uncomfortable questions.

The Palestinian people are therefore only an Arab invention and are nothing more than an agglomeration of Egyptian, Jordanian and Syrian emigrants. Point.

But do we really want to make all those suckers who want a Palestinian state happy? Okay. Let’s start by thinking as a Palestinian state, even if we don’t know on which borders.

First of all I need a Government, a currency and a central bank, why wouldn’t I want to live on non-repayable aid amounting to hundreds of billions as I have done up to now? I will also have to take responsibility for creating a currency and putting it on the market, making debt with government bonds, fighting against inflation, market prices, etc. etc. Up to now I have used Israeli currency (why not Jordanian or Egyptian?) issued by the central bank of Jerusalem. But from today I will no longer be able to do it because I am the Palestinian State.

Then I will have to create some form of welfare, that is, that whole series of interventions and services intended for the population that a state provides by financing them with tax revenues. Public health, schools, social assistance etc. etc. It is one of the largest expenses for a state (Italy spends more than 600 billion a year). Until today the international donors (i.e. us) have paid for everything, they have also collected my tax revenues (Israel), but from today I have to pay for everything with my own money and my tax revenues which I will somehow collect.

I will have to study an economic policy line, try to grow the GDP without causing the debt to grow too much. I will have to pay the police, state personnel, teachers and professors. All things that until now others paid me for.

Now you understand why the Palestinians have always rejected their own state, even when they offered them 99.99% of their territorial and economic demands. Creating a state is easy. It’s managing it that’s tricky. And then they would lose that aura of victims which up to now has earned them international sympathy (less than that of the Arabs).

So, do you want to recognize Neverland? Recognize it, but also do whatever it takes to make it work, demand a democratic government, decent public health, etc. etc.

In all these years the so-called Palestine has received more aid than all of Africa combined. It’s as if Umbria had received more aid than Africa. Except that today Umbria would be the richest “state” in the world while the so-called Palestine is among the poorest.

I deliberately left the most important detail for the end: with which government do you recognize Palestine? Hamas or Fatah? The vast majority of Palestinians today would vote for Hamas and celebrated the October 7 massacre as they believed it was right. So if you recognize Palestine you recognize Hamas and you too approve of what they have done. Point.
