Today in the Reading Room of the DEMM Palazzo De Simone Department in Benevento the first results of a survey carried out in some upper secondary schools in Benevento and the lower secondary school in Pietrelcina, with branch offices in Pago Veiano and Sannita peach. The initiative was promoted by the Women’s Councils of the Municipality of Benevento and the Municipality of Pietrelcina, whose Presidents Angela De Nisco and Stefania Glielmo (who introduced and moderated the interventions) proposed the development of a questionnaire, concerning the condition of women in the province of Benevento, created by the University of Sannio by Paola Mancini, Professor of Demography at the Degree Course in Statistical and Actuarial Sciences of the University of Sannio. After the greeting address by the Magnificent Rector of the Unisannio Gerardo Carfora and the institutional personalities present, the Mayor of the Municipality of Pietrelcina Salvatore Mazzone, the Councilor for social policies of the Municipality of Benevento Carmen Coppola who brought the greetings of the Mayor Clemente Mastella and the Equal Opportunities Councilor of the Municipality of Pietrelcina Filomena Masone, the meeting got underway with the presentation of the results of the research “Mind the Gap!” Adolescents and gender stereotypes” illustrated by Prof Paola Mancini. The work was concluded by the Provincial Councilor for Equal Opportunities Rocchino Staiano who commented on the results of the questionnaire, providing further food for thought on the topic and statistical data collected at regional level.
