PETTORANO, CAR FIRE IN THE NIGHT

A night of tension in via Chiuse in Pettorano sul Gizio, where a fire engulfed and destroyed a Fiat Panda belonging to a 50-year-old from Sulmona. The episode occurred around three in the morning, causing alarm among residents.

The car, owned by a woman already known to the police, was completely destroyed by the flames. The residents of the area raised the alarm and immediately called the Carabinieri of the Castel di Sangro company. The officers, who promptly arrived on site, woke up the owner of the vehicle, while the Sulmona firefighters took care of putting out the fire.

Investigations are currently underway to establish the nature of the fire, but initial indications suggest it was caused by arson. The time and circumstances of the fire leave investigators with little doubt.

The woman was interviewed by the police, and from the first information that emerged it seems that, in the days before the fire, she had received suspicious phone calls and messages from a 30-year-old from Sulmona. Investigators are trying to understand whether the woman may have been the victim of threats or retaliation.

This incident is not the first of its kind for the 50-year-old. In March last year, a fire destroyed her farmhouse in the Pratola countryside, fueling suspicions and concerns about her safety.

The investigations are ongoing, and investigators are evaluating all possible leads to trace the perpetrators of this arsonist act and understand the motivations behind these serious episodes.
