73 year old saved by the Fire Brigade

A person in his car when one of the trees on the border between via Laviano and via Ruggiero, in Caserta, fell.

Caserta police and firefighters on site. The incident happened around 10am.

The team of the provincial fire brigade command of Caserta, coming from the headquarters of the command, intervened, alerted by residents in the area to rescue a person.

Immediately arriving on site, the Fire Brigade found a 73-year-old man, who had remained trapped in his car after it had been hit by a suddenly collapsed tree.

The red helmets cut the branches of the tree and rescued the person in the car, freeing him and handing him over to the care of the 118 emergency services on site with an ambulance.

Car falls 40 meters into the stream: unharmed

A car with two people on board fell 40 meters down a slope into the Malvaro stream in the municipality of Lorsica (Genoa) in Val Fontanabuona along the provincial road 23.

The man and woman involved in the accident were uninjured.

The vehicle, in which the two people were sleeping, was parked in a roadside lay-by.

Suddenly the handbrake gave way, causing the car to fall towards the embankment in the woods, where it overturned a couple of times, ending the journey on its wheels but inside the bed of the stream.

The couple independently called for help.

The police managed to locate the site of the accident, a steep slope full of vegetation.

The firefighters, using a path about two hundred meters further upstream, managed to save the two people and the Maremma dog who was with them.
