Yesterday in Vallo della Lucania Sistema Cilento presented, in collaboration with the strategic partner Cisa srl, the integrated territorial investment “Chora Velina”, which sees a local development strategy in which the twelve Municipalities of Vallo della Lucania are involved (leader) , Ascea, Cannalonga, Castelnuovo Cilento, Ceraso, Gioi, Moio della Civitella, Novi Velia, Omignano, Orria, Perito and Salento.
Integrated Territorial Investments (ITI) represent a local development tool that allows the implementation of a territorial strategy in a way that is the ideal tool for supporting integrated actions in urban areas because it allows for the combination of financing connected to different thematic objectives, also providing for the possibility of combining funds from priority axes and operational programs supported by the ERDF, the ESF and the Cohesion Fund.
In July 2023 the signing of the first memorandum of understanding, preceded by the listening phase of the Mayors and the discussion with the Technical Offices. Then a lot of work, a public notice and the preparation of an economic feasibility.
The ITI unfolds through different intervention and project matrices with six different thematic corridors: 1) Sustainable and shared energy; 2) Conservation and enhancement of the historical, archaeological and cultural heritage; 3) Repopulation and new economies; 4) Mobility networks; 5) Monitoring and safeguarding; 6) Digital transition. More than 80 projects summarized in n. 5 strategic interventions. A territorial investment worth over 150 million euros. Now it will be the operational phase. Off to the formation of the control room and the formalization of strategic agreements with expansion to all the institutions naturally involved.

It is a great challenge for the local administrations involved who now have an additional tool, provided by the EU, to think about local development in a shared and participatory way.
