In Fornace, meanwhile, the entire community rallied around the Lorenzi family: on Sunday evening, inside the Mariana Oasis, the rosary was recited in memory of Matteo. Many people wanted to participate and make your closeness felt to the young cyclist’s mother, father and little brother.
“I can’t even quantify how many people were there – says the mayor of Fornace, Mauro Stenico – but there were really a lot of people. Cars were parked everywhere and many even arrived from outside the country. At this moment we can’t help but rally around Matteo’s family. On the afternoon of the funeral we will proclaim city mourning for the entire duration of the funeral. It is a symbolic but necessary act: this tragedy has affected our entire community.”
