Arera, the regulatory authority for energy, networks and the environment, has extended to 30 June 2024 the deadline by which citizens and businesses affected by the May 2023 flood can request tariff concessions on electricity, gas, water and waste users

Please note that Arera (Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment) has set 30 June 2024 as the deadline by which citizens and businesses affected by the May 2023 flood can request tariff concessions on electricity, gas, water and waste. Arera has in fact provided a series of concessions to be applied to users active on 1 May 2023, at the request of the users’ owners, who must submit a specific request to merchants/managers.

The requirement for domestic users will be to declare that the user is subservient to a home whose functional integrity has been compromised, on the basis of an eviction order, evacuation order or other suitable documentation. Non-domestic users will instead have to present a sworn or sworn appraisal with reference to the damages specified in the Arera resolution. As regards the TARI, the benefit consists of a reduction in the TARI referring to the months of May, June, July, August, September and October 2023. The benefit is applicable only upon specific request of the holders of the utilities and if the requirements predetermined in the ARERA resolution. To this end, under his own personal responsibility, including criminal responsibility in the event of false declarations, the owner of the user concerned must certify, using the appropriate forms:

For DOMESTIC USERS that the user is subservient to a home that has been compromised in its functional integrity, as a consequence of the flood events that occurred in the month of May 2023 on the basis of an eviction order or an evacuation order or suitable documentation issued by the territorially competent Municipality;

For NON-DOMESTIC USERS that the user is served by a location that has been compromised in its functional integrity as a result of the flood events that occurred in the month of May 2023 on the basis of a sworn or sworn appraisal, with reference only to the damages specifically indicated in the resolution ARERA.
