Aside from the usual fireworks display of lights, costumes and choreography, Eurovision 2024 was an edition full of controversies and mix-ups. The choice of claim was not very happy United By Music and for obvious reasons. Protests against Israel’s participation made waves, leading to the arrest of Greta Thunberg and other demonstrators. There were also boos during the parade and in the hall for Eden Golan’s performance. The Netherlands disqualified for sexist insults…
An outline which delighted newspapers and the media, further diverting attention from the songs which in these “games without frontiers of music” were and remain accessory to a performance based on the gymnastic, with a kitsch taste, which does not even miss the trashy. After all, this is also one of the reasons for its success.
