CALTANISSETTA – The toll from an accident is one dead and 9 injured occurred yesterday evening along the 626 Caltanissetta-Gela state road. For reasons currently under investigation, near the Capodarso viaduct, in the Caltanissetta area a BMW 5 series and a Lancia Fedra collided.
The impact between the two vehicles was extremely violent. The victim of the accident is a 50-year-old man, Giancarlo Collurawho was driving the BMW 5 series.
Another 9 people were injured, some are serious even if not life-threatening. Firefighters, traffic police, carabinieri and 118 personnel rushed to the scene of the accident.
According to an initial reconstruction by the traffic police, the Lancia Fedra would have invaded the oncoming lane but the dynamics are still being examined by the agents.
The collision between the two cars occurred at a point that had already been the scene of other accidents in the past. The injured were transported to the hospitals of Enna and Caltanissetta.
