PESARO – Fatal accident on the Siligate, the Supreme Court confirms the conviction of Marco Orazietti. The appeal was rejected. In the road accident that occurred on State Road 16 in June 2019, three people died: Silvia Lucarelli, 33 years old, and the 60-year-old spouses Roberto Carosio and Oriella Bonerba. Orazietti, the 36-year-old, then Silvia’s partner, was accused of triple vehicular manslaughter in competition.

According to the prosecutor’s office, he cooperated in determining the accident by applying the handbrake which caused the vehicle to drift. According to the prosecution, Silvia was driving. At first instance, Orazietti was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months, also ordering provisional compensation. To Silvia’s parents 60 thousand euros each and to her daughter, who was orphaned by her mother, 100 thousand euros. The appeal process reduced the sentence to 1 year and 8 months. The provisional compensation has also been reduced to 30 thousand euros for the parents and 50 for the daughter. Andrea Giorgiani appealed to the Supreme Court which rejected and confirmed the appeal sentence. Orazietti was declared a fugitive and served with a detention order last March 22 in Valencia after the police went to arrest him. He had taken refuge in Spain a few months ago to escape a final sentence of three years and three months in prison for drug crimes, hoping to be able to evade the restrictive measure issued against him. Stories of dealing marijuana and cocaine, for which he had already ended up in prison in the past. But once he got out he ended up in the loop again, so much so that he was accused of having repeatedly reoffended within five years.
