Car on fire inside a garage in via della Pace a Cornuda, Tuesday 7 May around 12. A diesel-powered Volkswagen Polo caught fire inside a garage of an apartment building.
The garage was filled with smoke which made the environment impassable without protection. The firefighters intervened on site and immediately started working to put out the flames and block the smoke, also assisted by the carabinieri from the Cornuda station.
The residents of the area who were alarmed by the emergency alerted the emergency services loud bang of broken glass caused by the flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
The teams rushed from the Montebelluna detachment and from Treviso with two fire engines and a tanker and 13 operators, put out the flames of the diesel Volkswagen Polo which was located in the common areas of a garage of approximately 1000 m2, preventing the fire from spreading to the garages present and the entire building. There was smoke damage throughout the basement.
Probable causes electromechanical nature they are being examined by fire brigade technicians, present on site with the officer on duty.
Complete fire brigade operations shutdown and cleanup they ended after about two hours. The use of the basement is prohibited until the healthy conditions of the premises are restored.
