San Benedetto, thief cuts a gas pipe to steal a bicycle: fear in via Calatafimi

SAINT BENEDICT I fire fighters of the San Benedetto detachment had to intervene in the coastal town due to a gas leak. It happened in via Calatafini, at the intersection with via Roma. At first it was thought that the breakage had been caused by a maneuvering vehicle that had hit the pipe, but a man who had left his bicycle tied there and had not found it realized that the damage could have been caused to steal his two-wheeler. The bike disappeared

In fact, the firefighters, and also the passers-by who reported the fault, explained that there was no bicycle tied to the pipe. The damage would therefore have arisen during the attempted theft of the vehicle. When the criminals severed the chain with their pliers to take possession of the bicycle, they also broke the trunk. Obviously the perpetrator of the theft is unknown, and the complaint was made against unknown persons. The security cameras in the area will be examined as a crime has been committed, and if the damage had been more significant the consequences of the breakage would have been greater.
