AGI – Two very serious accidents during the night in Naples. The budget is dramatic. A 21 year old girl dead, another very serious one. The fatal accident occurred in Via Cattolica this morning at around 6.30. Four friends had left the Riva club in Via Cattolica at the end of an evening and got into their car, a Fiat Panda, to go home.
After a few meters the owner of the vehicle asks the driver to stop, still on Via Cattolica, because she thinks she is in better conditions to drive the car. They stop and the owner of the vehicle gets out of the back seat to start driving, she doesn’t have time to get back into the car before she is hit by an oncoming vehicle. The witnesses probably indicate a large displacement SUV. The hit car fled and lost track.
The 21-year-old girl who was hit, resident in the historic center of Naples, died instantly. Another accident occurred in Fuorigrotta in Via Leopardi aat 4.30 am where a 27-year-old young woman from Naples, resident in Via Leopardi, was ending the evening by being accompanied home by taxi together with her friends. Having got out of the vehicle outside her house, while crossing the road at the intersection with Via Rossetti, the young woman was hit by a VW Polo driven by a 24-year-old boy with a 22-year-old passenger on board.
The impact was very violent, it seems the girl who was hit was thrown forward about 30 metres. Following the collision, the driver of the car continued driving only to return 30 minutes later to the scene where he was intercepted by Municipal Police officers who intervened to provide assistance and carry out investigations. The condition of the girl who was hit immediately appeared serious and she was transported by 118 ambulance to the San Paolo hospital where she was hospitalized with a reserved prognosis.
