The Besta committee does not trust the plan of the Municipality of Bologna on public green areas and on the eve of the meeting scheduled for tomorrow with the Municipality of Bologna it relaunches with the ’10 reasons to oppose a senseless project’, precisely the one for the construction of the new Besta medium.
After the “bar jokes” of the Councilor for Education Daniele Ara on the poplars of the Don Bosco park, the anti-Besta also stigmatize the statements of Emily Clancy and Raffaele Laudani on the half-million euro plan to redevelop the park in the Fiera area . “They even talk about an epochal transformation – notes the committee –. But, here, what is epochal is only the progressive environmental devastation, a city designed for tourists that erases the needs of its inhabitants”. The vocabulary chosen by Clancy, deputy mayor with environmental mandate, “is designed to confuse public opinion with effective words and is used on the eve of the meeting in the Municipality to shuffle the cards. And it hides, or perhaps reveals, the total lack of political vision of this junta?”, ask the activists.
“What citizens have seen so far – continues the Besta committee – is the attempt to carry out useless and harmful works such as the destruction of the Don Bosco park and one of the most modern schools in Bologna in Europe. Operations which have already produced resulting in the felling of thousands of trees and the waste of public money and which will not provide any benefit to citizens”. “To the ‘redevelopment’ model of Lepore, Clancy, Ara and Laudani, which is made up of felling trees, land consumption and squandering of public money, we oppose resistance made up of daily and silent practices of true regeneration”. Furthermore, the committee highlights again, “we also denounce that the activists in the park are continuously monitored and intimidated by Digos as dangerous people”.
