ROMANO CANAVESE – Fire brigade intervention in force this afternoon, Saturday 4 May 2024, in via Ponte Chiusella in Romano Canavese. Around 4.30pm the alarm was raised due to a fire which seriously damaged a house. The flames, which probably started from a stove, affected the roof of the house and the attic below. The call to 112 was immediate. The fire caused a column of smoke visible even from a distance.
Shortly afterwards, the fire brigade teams from Ivrea, Castellamonte and Turin arrived in Romano. The roof was almost entirely engulfed in flames. The shutdown and safety operations will probably continue for a long time to come. No injuries or poisonings were reported. The police were also on site. The road was temporarily closed to traffic to allow the influx of fire brigade vehicles. Investigations into the causes of the fire are underway.
