It took place yesterday afternoon in Teggiano in the City Council room of the Monumental Complex of the SS. Pietà, the public assembly regarding the news of the closure of the childhood school complex of Teggiano Capoluogo, convened by the mayor Michele Di Candia and the municipal administration to make the community participate in the succession of facts and to expose the actions that have been activated and those that will be carried out to protect the children of the historic center. Also present was the assistant teacher of the Director of the Teggiano Comprehensive Institute. During the meeting, the decision of the Salerno education board was reiterated not to establish, for the next school year, the first class for the nursery school in the historic center of Teggiano, due to the small number of children enrolled: 6 , compared to a national standard which provides for a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 26 students for a class. At the end of the meeting, the mayor accepted the invitation of the mothers present at the Assembly to act as spokespersons to the Salerno district administration for their further request to establish the early childhood class of the capital. “We have done and will do everything possible,” said Mayor Di Candia.
