Final party for ‘Reporters in the classroom’, our journalism championship dedicated to secondary schools in Imola. The awards ceremony which was held yesterday in the headquarters of the Banca di Imola – a supporter of the project from the beginning – in Piazza Matteotti marked the end of a year which saw the students tackle numerous current issues. Almost all the schools were present (the Sante Zennaro schools were excused). Hosting the event were the president of the Banca di Imola, Giovanni Tamburini, the general director Sergio Zavatti and the advisor of the Cassa di Risparmio di Imola Foundation, Ugo Mongardi Fantaguzzi.

President Tamburini underlined the importance of information, even in digital form, drawing a parallel with the bank: today any operation can be done from a telephone, but at the same time the relationships between people that are built in the branches are fundamental. Choosing the winners for the jury was particularly difficult, given the quality contribution offered by all the schools. The winning schools received, in addition to a plaque and gifts from Carlino and Banca di Imola, purchase vouchers for school supplies.

The first prize was won by the Valsalva schools of Imola which addressed very current and important issues: war, social media, feminicides but also topics closer to local news, for example interviewing the staff of the municipal dog shelter. A work by true journalists that was worth the first prize.

Top level work also for the students of the Orsini schools of Imola, who ranked second: they addressed gender differences, interviewed a poet, a UN official and talked about the IC.7 Radio lab.

Third place for the Malpighi Visitandines of Castel San Pietro, whose students addressed current issues such as cyberbullying, but also interviewed their mayor. Prize for participation – but very close to the podium – went to the Aldo Moro schools of Toscanella di Dozza and the Sante Zennaro schools of Imola. In the next few days (the date will be communicated) an insert will be published in which we will republish the pages created by the students.
