He threatens his ex-partner with death and then attacks the police: 22-year-old arrested

BOLOGNA – The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Unit of Bologna arrested a 22-year-old Italian man with a criminal conviction, accused of the crime of resisting a public official. The events that led to the arrest occurred during the night in the Borgo Panigale district, where a 20-year-old Italian woman called the Bologna Carabinieri Operations Center, telling the military that she felt in danger as she was threatened with death with a knife, from her ex-partner. Having heard the news, some patrols from the Radiomobile Unit quickly reached the reported house and, while the woman was explaining what had happened to the soldiers, the man, having temporarily moved away, returned to his ex-partner’s house and attempted to attack against her, regardless of the presence of the Carabinieri. When asked to show a document, the 22-year-old suddenly pushed one of the soldiers, trying to move quickly in the direction of her ex-partner, in an attempt to hit her; on the occasion she accused her of being a no-good and of having called the Carabinieri. Immediately blocked by the soldiers, the man put up strong resistance, unloading his anger and violence against the soldiers, trying to hit them with kicks and punches. This led to a violent scuffle, which turned into a real attack on the Carabinieri, who, with no small difficulty, managed to immobilize him by also using stinging spray. The woman told the military that she had been insulted and threatened with death several times in recent days, even in the presence of her younger daughter, born from their relationship which lasted about a year. She also reported that in 2021 she was forced to report her partner due to his violent and aggressive attitudes and that for these reasons he was convicted of mistreatment in the family. Transported to the barracks for photo identification and ritual procedures, the 22-year-old was arrested, on the orders of the Bologna Public Prosecutor’s Office. After the celebration of the trial with a direct rite, the man was sentenced with an abbreviated rite to six months of imprisonment, suspended sentence, and subjected to the daily precautionary measure of the obligation to present himself at a judicial police office and the obligation to lives in the municipality of residence.
