The player who had the best impact of the season coming off the bench is Naz Reid. This is what the NBA ruled when awarding the Minnesota Timberwolves big man as Sixth Man of the Year.
Reid, in his fifth year in the league, played his career-best season with Averaged 13.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.9 blocks in just over 24 minutes of use. The LSU product, undrafted in 2019, started only 14 times in 81 games played.
In the Sixth Man voting, Reid narrowly edged out Malik Monk: 352 to 342 points. Completing the finalist podium is Bobby Portis, who however only scored 81 points. https://twitter.com/NBAPR/status/1783266894952218706.
Naz Reid is only the third undrafted player in NBA history to win the Sixth Man of the Year award: before him only John Starks (1997) and Darrell Armstrong (1999) had done so.
Yesterday Tyrese Maxey was announced as Most Improved Player.
